An event dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the Iravan Teachers’ Seminary was held at the F. Kocharli Republican Children’s Library. During the event, detailed information was presented about the role of this seminary, which operated in the city of Yerevan and held an important place in the history of pedagogical thought, as well as the activities of our intellectuals who showed great dedication in providing our native-language schools with teaching staff.

At the event, Jalal Allahverdiyev — historian-researcher and author of the book *“Iravan Teachers’ Seminary”* — and Irada Rizazade, Chairperson of the Public Union “For the Social Welfare of Citizens,” delivered speeches about the history of the seminary and the overall educational environment of Yerevan. It was particularly emphasized that the city of Yerevan historically gained recognition as one of the major centers of science, education, and culture where Azerbaijanis lived as an indigenous population.

The main purpose of the event was to highlight the important role played by prominent representatives of Yerevan’s literary-cultural and socio-political environment in our literature and culture, and to introduce their heritage to the younger generation.
