On October 2, in Poland, within the framework of the OSCE 2024 Warsaw Human Dimension Conference, Nadima Rahimli, representative of the "For the Social Welfare of Citizens" Public Union, and Fuad Karimli, representative of the Center for Economic and Social Development, held a side event.
The side event was dedicated to the theme "Climate Change and Refugee Health," and discussions were held on the situation of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) worldwide, as well as the socio-economic impacts of climate change on their lives. The problems faced by displaced persons globally, particularly the importance of restoring the right of those deported from Western Azerbaijan to return to their ancestral homelands, were widely discussed. It was noted that a portion of the Azerbaijanis forcibly deported from Armenia were unable to adapt to the new climatic environment during the displacement and lost their lives.
The side event was held with the support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
