An International Conference Titled "Zangezur Corridor – A Key Part of the New Silk Road" Was Held
With the financial support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Public Union "For the Social Welfare of Citizens" organized an international conference titled "Zangezur Corridor – A Key Part of the New Silk Road."
Opening the conference with an introductory speech, the chairwoman of the Public Union, Irada Rizazade, welcomed the participants and invited experts from five countries located along the Silk Road, providing detailed information about the purpose of the event. The chairwoman emphasized that the opening of the Zangezur corridor is not only the restoration of a direct land connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, but it also holds strategic importance for the development of the economic, social, and logistical infrastructure of the region and the countries along the Silk Road in general.
I. Rizazade noted: "The corridor promises great contributions in terms of strengthening intercultural dialogue and other important aspects. For this reason, as representatives of civil society, we felt it was our duty to bring the significance of opening the Zangezur corridor to the attention of the international community through an international conference format with the participation of foreign experts."
The international experts participating in the conference spoke highly of the significance of the Zangezur corridor as a competitive route within the framework of the Middle Corridor.
