Representatives of Azerbaijani non-governmental organizations are participating in the 62nd session of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies (SB62), being held at the World Conference Center in Bonn, Germany.
Alongside the Deputy Chair of the Public Association “For Citizens’ Social Welfare,” Gulshen Akhundova, Chair of the Women, Development and Future Public Association, and Maryam Majidova, Chair of the “Gender Hub” Public Association, are also representing Azerbaijani civil society at the session.
Within the climate conference taking place from 16 to 26 June, negotiations are being conducted on key areas such as adaptation, climate change mitigation, climate finance, and transparency. To this end, the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) are convening.
It should be noted that the outcomes of the SB62 session are of particular importance for shaping the agenda of COP30. The conference also serves as a key platform for negotiations, preparatory discussions, and informal consultations that form part of the global climate decision-making process.
