A seminar on “Restoration and Preservation of Technological Heritage in Western Azerbaijan” was organized by the Western Azerbaijan Technological Heritage Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the Public Union “For the Social Welfare of Citizens.”
The purpose of the seminar was to scientifically evaluate and discuss the contemporary relevance of the technological heritage developed in Western Azerbaijan. The event began with a tour of an exhibition dedicated to Western Azerbaijan heritage, organized by the Public Union “For the Social Welfare of Citizens,” held in the foyer of AzTU.
Speakers at the seminar included AzTU Rector Vilayet Valiyev, Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community Aziz Alekberli, and Chairperson of the Public Union “For the Social Welfare of Citizens” Irada Rizazade. This was followed by panel discussions featuring researcher Jalal Allahverdiyev on Western Azerbaijan, Honored Cultural Worker and national culinary researcher Tahir Amiraslanov, and members of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan — Iskander Sardarly, Toğrul Sardarly, and artist Ali Ismayil Aliyev — who presented extensively on the technological heritage of Western Azerbaijan. During the presentations, proposals were made for preserving this heritage and conducting further research in the field.
It should be noted that, in line with President Ilham Aliyev’s directives for the preparation of the “Return to Western Azerbaijan” Concept, the Western Azerbaijan Technological Heritage Center was established at AzTU last year.
