The conference held on September 18 was organized jointly by the Qusar District Executive Authority and non-governmental organizations: the public associations “For Citizens’ Social Welfare,” “Society of Disabled Women,” and “For International Cooperation of Persons with Disabilities.”
The main purpose of the conference was to discuss the historical truths, current realities, and upcoming challenges related to Western Azerbaijan, and to create conditions for presenting scientific, public, and cultural perspectives in this direction.
First, the conference participants visited the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev located in Qusar District and laid flower bouquets in front of it.
Speakers at the conference included Nazim Mustafa, PhD in History; Jalal Allahverdiyev, PhD in Philology; Afgan Valiyev, sector head at the Center for Social Research; Tahir Amiraslanov, president of the National Culinary Association; Khatayi Alasgarli, chairman of the “Dede Alasgar Hearth” Public Association; Ali Ismayil, senior lecturer at the UNEC Design Department; Atira Israfilgizi, an employee of AZTV; Ali Valiyev, a researcher on Western Azerbaijan; and other guests.
In the speeches, special emphasis was placed on Western Azerbaijan’s ancient historical roots, its rich literary and cultural heritage, as well as topics such as the preservation and promotion of national cuisine. Scholars and experts noted that Western Azerbaijan is an inseparable part not only of our past, but also of our future national development.
In the second part of the event, conference participants toured an exhibition covering Western Azerbaijan’s historical and cultural heritage, educational life, and other areas.
