NGO Chairperson: "Joint projects and financial support are essential for solving climate problems"
In a private statement to QHT.az, Irada Rizazade, Chairwoman of the "For the Social Welfare of Citizens" Public Union, touched upon the significance of the climate summit held in Baku within the framework of COP29. She emphasized that one of the main issues at the center of the discussions is the provision of financial support to solve climate problems.
The NGO chairperson expressed the summit's global role as follows:
"In this prestigious event, heads of state, government leaders, and authorized representatives come together to make important decisions to prevent the climate crisis. The main goal is to achieve the allocation of sustainable financial resources for the elimination of climate problems. Currently, there are many countries in the world whose economies are directly dependent on climate change. Natural disasters such as fires, floods, and earthquakes cause serious damage to the economies of those states. To minimize these consequences, joint financial mechanisms must be established, and decisive steps must be taken towards the efficient distribution of resources."
